In 1852, Alibhai Thawar arrives in Nosibe, Madagascar from Zanzibar. He was a very successful businessman. He is buried in Nosibe.

Alibhai built a mosque in Nosibe between 1870-1880.

He was accompanied by Khamis Sumar, the grandfather of Mohammad Razabhai Khamis.
