		+	An International Women’s Convention was held in Milton Keynes on 14th September, 2002 as part of the 25th Anniversary of the World Federation.

		+	The Convention, jointly hosted in conjunction with the Council of European Jamaats, was intended to help the World Federation establish the need of the women of our community.

		+	A steering group of ladies from the UK was put together to organize and lead the event. The aims of the convention were to:

It was felt that the few institutions/committees in place at present are not able to deal with these matters and that the community needs to be educated on the seriousness and importance of the institution of marriage. It was felt that a global solution is required and isolated Jamaats in particular need greater help.
		+	# There is a need to address separately certain women’s health issues such as menopause, HRT, breast cancer awareness, depression and stress related illnesses. Its task would be then would be to network and identify common issues on a regular basis, to look for solutions and make proposals in form of reports to the Office Bearers. The WF’s task would then be to identify issues which could be handled by regional councils, those which could be passed on to individual Jamaats and those which should be tackled by the WF itself.

He stated that the aim of Youth Network Desk was to create an interjamaat and intrajamaat network where youth share experience and ideas. The idea was to create unity and communication among youths for the purpose of moral and spiritual upliftment and knowledge.
