Birth Date: In The Year 1976

Brief Profile

Husseinali was born in Tunduru, Tanzania and pursued his education in Dar es Salaam and in the United Kingdom where he qualified as an Optometrist in 1976 at Bradford. Husseinali takes a keen interest in his profession of Optometry which he developed into a successful business since 1979. Presently he operates four clinics in Dar es Salaam by the name of Health Plus – The Medical Centre incorporating Vision Plus - the eye clinic and Dental Plus -the dental clinic.

Achievements & Awards

From a very young age, Husseinali is involved in social and voluntary services within and outside the community; between 1984 – 2011 he held the following positions:

(1) Chairman of Ithna-Asheri Union of Dar es Salaam

(2) Governor of Golden Crescent Group

(3) Director of International School of Tanganyika

(4) Teacher at Hussaini Madressah.

(5) Editor of the Federation Samachar

(6) Husseinali Bhai is presently involved in rural Eye Camps in Tanzania with DANIDA, a foreign NGO.

The deep interest he holds in reading, current affairs, Islamic History and Architecture, similarly in the History of the Khoja Community makes him an ideal person with his vast knowledge and experience to take up the post so as to broaden and develop further the Archives Section of the Africa Federation. The Chairman, Alhaj Anwarali Dharamsi and the Office Bearers of the Africa Federation extend their heartiest congratulations and best wishes to Alhaj Husseinali Wallimohammed Datoo on his appointment, we pray for his good health, Tawfeeqat and every success, Ameen.

Appointment as Sectional Secretary

The Chairman of the Africa Federation, Alhaj Anwarali Dharamsi is pleased to appoint Alhaj Husseinali Wallimohammed Datoo as Sectional Secretary of the Africa Federation Archives Section. The Archives section is an important segment of the Secretariat of the Africa Federation where records and history of our community are preserved for references and for the future generations. With support from some community members and Jamaats, we have also been able to gather some old documents, photographs and articles on the historical events, some of these have been published by Archives.
